Level 3 Certificate in Learning and Development

This Level 3 Certificate in Learning and Development course is made up of five units. Unit 1 focuses on the understanding of principles and practices of learning development. Unit 2 requires you to reflect on your professional development. Unit 3 requires you discuss and demonstrate working with either individuals or groups. Unit 4 requires you to discuss and demonstrate planning and preparation of learning opportunities while unit 5 on the development of resources. The course is aimed at practitioners such as tutors, mentors, trainers, assessors and quality assurer's who want to develop the range of technical knowledge and skills required within the learning and development sector, in non-supervised roles. The course has a 120 guided learning requirement.

This course is open to anyone working in learning and development. Your job role should be sufficient and give you opportunities to fully address learning outcomes and assessment criteria. You will need to have the ability to work at a minimum level 3 literacy and level 2 numeracy standard.

You are also expected to have access to the world wide web, word processor and be willing to work hard to achieve the qualification. You are required to commit some time to participate in course activities and complete tasks.

In order to complete and achieve the Level 3 Certificate in Learning and Development you need to have an understanding of principles and concepts of learning development. You will need to discuss and reflect about your professional development as a learning and development practitioner. There should be understanding of underpinning theories and evidence of working with either individuals or groups. You will also need to discuss and evidence how you plan and prepare learning and development opportunities. You will also need to discuss and evidence how you prepare resources.

Candidates must meet a minimum 30 credits to be awarded the Level 3 Certificate in Learning and Development qualification by completing the following units:

The Level 3 Certificate in Learning and Development is delivered mainly by distance learning (online) and blended. Assessors can observe you in person (if possible). The course duration is up to 20 weeks.

All candidates will be allocated an assessor who will also be their primary contact. You will be expected to actively participate in tutorials. Assessments will include completing short questions, professional discussions, observation of work products (assessment plans, reviews and feedback reports etc). You will also need to be observed.

This course requires you to demonstrate occupational competency. Observations, expert witness reports or work products will be required to prove some of your activities or actions. Observations can be in person, video or remotely. Where observations are not possible it is possible to relay on expert witnesses who are occupationally competent (managers, supervisors, mentors etc).

Upon successful completion of the course, your work will undergo both internal and external quality assurance. We will claim your certificate from the awarding body. Certificates are normally issued within 14 days after successful external quality assurance.
